Watch old mall footage and look past the storefronts for a second. There are people standing around, sitting near the fountain, walking without much urgency. Being there appears to be part of the point.

A mall could be an errand for one person and an entire Saturday for somebody else. The food court, the music coming out of a shop, the place you agreed to meet if you got separated: those details gave the afternoon a shape.

This is the kind of footage that gets better when people bring their own memories to it. Somebody remembers a local store that never became a chain. Somebody else remembers a particular smell, a terrible haircut, or the first CD they bought.

Echoes is interested in those specifics. Which mall? What year? What was the one shop you always had to stop in? A memory with a name and a place is a starting point for another story.
